Playing around with an idea for a single use, single soldier, type drop pod. Jettisoned from a large ship in orbit or from a vehicle on the ground. The pod has a large propulsion rocket on top to get it to where it needs to go. Upon landing, hopefully right side up, the two front doors swing open letting the soldier inside out.
I made the support ring above the door flat in the back with the idea of, in the event the pod doesn’t land straight up, that it could roll upon impact and eventually roll and then settle with the exit doors facing upwards.
