Latest Halo3 Marketing Campaign, “Believe”

While I haven’t been all that impressed or interested in the first two Halo games, sorry I like my single player campaigns, I have been impressed with the quality and scale of the marketing campaigns for the Halo franchise. It’s amazing what a bunch of smart creative people can come up with. Yeah, a giant budget and a successful franchise also helps.

For Halo3 it’s no different and they’ve once again deployed the big guns. The section of this campaign that has me the most impressed right now is the ginormous 1,200 sq ft diorama that was created by [find out name of Ad agency]. The Halo3 website now has a virtual fly through of the diorama along with info nodes scattered along the path. If you click these nodes you can get information on enemy combatant, “first hand” accounts from various “soldiers” from the great battle, 360 degree scene descriptions complete with sounds effects, and URLS to watch the movies from the “Believe” marketing campaign for which this diorama is apart of.

Congrats to the marketing peeps at MS for yet another fantastic marketing campaign. I only hope the single player campaign of Halo3 is better then it’s predecessors. I’ve actually gone out on a limb here and pre-ordered the Legendary Halo3. I’m going to give Bungie the benefit of the doubt. ;)

PS. You can also take your own screenshots during the fly through of the diorama, below are a few of the ones I snapped:
