Game Review: World In Conflict

For those who enjoy a great RTS games with good stories, balanced systems and mechanics, and over all fun factor then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend World in Conflict (WiC). I enjoyed it immensely from start to finish with a couple surprise moments along the way.

The units are well balanced and fun to use. Even someone like myself who doesn’t spend a huge amount of time with strategies in RTS games was able to coordinate some awesome battles with ease. Artillery support was always fun when available and helped out immensely.

Some of the controls were a little finaky, some unit selection situations for instance, but nothing you can’t work around. Also, the helicopters you can call in to assist in taking out enemy choppers took a little to much effort to use, so I only used them when absolutely necessary.

Graphics wise, if you have a good computer you’ll be able to run WiC with high graphics settings and enjoy some amazing visuals. I played through it once with a 7950 x2 and it looked pretty good. I’ve since upgraded to an 8800GT and now WiC looks amazing, not to mention less slow down during unit heavy battles and there are plenty of those you can be sure of that.

So at the end of the day, World In Conflict is definitely worth your time and money.
