I’ve landed safe and sound in Berlin, Germany and have sucessfully taxied to my temp work apartment, sadly it seems to be devoid of other humans, just me and my plants for now. Hopefully I’ve managed to save my plants though, no water for a month. Yikes. Spent this last week in Bethesda, MD and Washington [...] In all likelihood yesterday was the first and the last “A Day At The Park”. The event was held in Amsterdam Bos (Amsterdam’s man made forest) and the neighbors and a few politicians weren’t all to happy about it’s permit being granted. Apparently up until the day of the event they were trying to get [...] Last Saturday I hung out with a bunch of friends at the Spiegel Concert. Fortunately for us one of these friends was the founder of eBuddy.com, one of the companies who was sponsoring the concert, I believe they supplied the stage boats. The company also had three boats tethered together almost across from the performance [...] Last night coming home from my fencing class I stopped by the two bridges at Browersgracht and Herengracht in the Jordaan. I had my mini-tripod with me and decided to shoot some pictures from various angles. For some reason I only recently started to carry the mini-t with me. /slaps forehead. Here are the four shots [...] There’s a scene in Ghost in the Shell where Motoko Kusanagi is scuba diving and as she floats from the dark womb of the ocean depths towards the life-giving light above she contemplates the idea of what it might be like to be born. Given she’s an 800lb cyborg with a human “ghost” driving [...] I’ve been out and about lately coming home from friend’s houses late in the evening and now that I’m trying to keep my DSLR on me at all time I’m taking my time riding home and stopping to take pictures along the way. Life’s a little nicer when you slow down and take notice. Taking my [...] My foray into Fencing started last night. The teacher, Paul, a Dutchman, has over 30 years of fencing experience so I feel I’m going to get my moneys worth. So far he’s been pretty cool and friendly, very helpful to us noobs. My friend and I were the only two English only students, the other [...] It was a lovely semi-rainy day yesterday and during the morning hours I was peeping the internets to see if anything was going on this weekend and I recalled a second art Exhibition that happens after Art Amsterdam, called Kunstvlaai, or Art Pie International. I checked the [events section] of Expatica.com and found the information [...] I spent last weekend visiting different art exhibitions around Amsterdam starting with the Station RAI Exhibitions Center, in the south. Unknowingly I had crashed at a friends place Friday night which I found out afterwards was about 3 min away from the Exhibition Center, awwwwessssome! So that made it easy to get the art adventure [...] |
