Overview

A house that walks, from someone else's concept art

A modeling study built from Sergey Orlyansky's concept painting — a house on mechanical legs wading through a flooded city, with a second one behind it. Working from a finished painting means the design decisions are already made, so the whole exercise is reading someone else's shapes closely enough to rebuild them in three dimensions.
Below, the concept first, then the model as it currently stands in Blender: a random-color viewport pass that separates the parts, and a clay render that shows the silhouette without materials distracting from it.

Viewport render with random per-object colors, which is the quickest way to see whether the parts read separately.

Clay render. No materials yet — this stage is about silhouette and proportion.

Outcome

Where it is now

Still in progress. The structure, legs and roof clutter are blocked in; materials and texturing haven't been started. The model below is the current state, so it will change.
